Showers, sunshine, and laughs in La Paz

Go ahead now and just queue a long succession of posts where I complain at least once about the heat. Prepare yourselves now.

Holy bejebus, it is HOT.

Okay, done complaining for this post.

We managed to make it over to Balandra last weekend, but for the most part, we are staying anchored in La Paz right now. We have Cora in preschool three days a week and I'm still dealing with postpartum complications.

I go in for more outpatient surgery on Thursday or Friday. To be quite honest, I'm really freaked out and stressed about the procedure. If my blogging has been scarce lately, just know I'm dealing with stuff, and will be afterwards for the 3-4 week recovery time.

At least I have some super cute distractions while my body is still out of whack.

My view from the cabin when Eric showers. Yes, that's right, we just soap up on the side deck (in our swimsuits) and then jump in the ocean to rinse off.

Soap be gone!!!

Sorry ladies, he's all mine.

As novel as it is to cool off in the ocean whilst showering, there are some quirks to work out with our showering system on board (obviously). We've got some privacy panels being made at a local canvas shop for the cockpit so we can stop hanging up sheets to block anyone's view while we finish rinsing off in the buff. That will be nice :)

Who needs water pressure anyway?

And while we can get away with showering (and shaving) in hot weather like this, eventually, I guess....we'll have to figure out how to shower inside the boat, but we've got a couple more years before that becomes a big problem.

Evening showers have turned into one of my favorite times of the day. I like it when the girls get cleaned up first and then get put to bed. Then Eric and I hang out taking dips, listening to music, and having "kid free" time on deck.

And our evening view looks like this:

To round off this disjointed post, I leave you with a few shots of my incredibly adorable three month old.

She laughed for the first time this week. I was the only one there to hear it and I reveled!

There is just nothing like the sound of a new baby's laugh to lighten your mood. Thank you Miss Lyra Estrella!

Best of luck on your surgery. Are you O.K.? What a remarkable family you have. Yes your children are your very own special joy. But please know that we enjoy them too. Smooth sailing, Rebel heart.

Oh my stars she's adorable. And you guys are terrific. Showering while living aboard is always a bit of an adventure. Love to your wee family.
